PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan, Mayo 22 (PIA) -- Umabot sa 3,462 na mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor sa Palawan ang nabenepisyuhan ng COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Ayon sa inilabas na listahan ng DOLE-Palawan Field Office, ang nasabing mga manggagawa ay mula sa 210 establisyemento sa Palawan na nag-apply sa CAMP noong unang linggo ng Abril matapos na isailalim sa Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) ang buong Luzon simula Marso 16.
Ang mga establisyementong ito ay ang mga naapektuhan ng ipinatupad na ECQ dahil sa pagkalat ng Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) kung saan nawalan ng trabaho ang kanilang mga empleyado.
Umaabot naman sa kabuuhang halaga na P17.310 milyon ang benepisyong naipamahagi ng DOLE-Palawan sa 3,462 mga manggagawa na tumanggap ng tig-P5,000 bawat isa.
Pinakamarami sa mga establisyemento na ito ay mula sa Puerto Princesa na umabot sa bilang na 141, pumangalawa naman ang Coron-28, pangatlo ang El Nido-14, pang-apat ang Narra-7, panglima ang Taytay-5 at tig-isa naman ang mga Bayan ng Busuanga, Roxas, Brooke's Point, Bataraza, Sofronio Espanola at San Vicente.
Ayon kay DOLE-Palawan Field Officer Luigi Evangelista, napakarami pang establisyemento ang nag-apply sa CAMP ngunit inabutan na ito ng cut-off matapos na mag-abiso ang kanilang regional office na naubusan na ng pondo para sa CAMP.
Aniya, pinayuhan din nito ang iba pang establisyemento na hindi nabenepisyuhan ng CAMP na mag-apply sa iba pang programa ng gobyerno tulad ng sa Department of Finance na Small Business Wage Subsidy. (OCJ/PIA-MIMAROPA)
