FRANKFURT, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 205.24 points, or 1.62 percent, to close at 12,908.99 points.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 5.48 percent. Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and automotive supplier Continental gained by 4.24 percent and 3.26 percent respectively.
Housing associations Vonovia and Deutsche Wohnen were the only two losers among the blue chips, by falling 0.78 percent and 0.36 percent respectively.
Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 364.38 million euros (427.82 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 2.41 percent to close at 0.830 euros per share on Friday.
