The three-day international forum focuses on global economic development, cooperation, and innovation
The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025) has entered its third day, drawing participants from 137 countries and territories, including global leaders, major corporations, international organizations, and policy experts.
This year's theme is 'Common Values - the Basis for Growth in a Multipolar World'. The forum offers a platform for high-level discussions on global economic challenges, sustainable development, and new models of cooperation amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
Thursday featured the opening of the forum and a large-scale exhibition showcasing innovative projects from Russian regions and international partners.
Panel discussions on day two of the forum addressed a wide range of issues, from tackling global economic instability to promoting national identity and values in a multipolar world, as well as expanding BRICS and Global South cooperation.
Russian officials and businessmen also held bilateral meetings with international delegations from countries including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin received an official invitation to the G20 summit in South Africa and met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who he called the forum's main guest. Both leaders are scheduled to deliver speeches at Friday's SPIEF plenary session, the forum's centerpiece event.
