H.H. Sheikh Ammar also visited the Chongqing Sanfeng Environment Group Corp., Ltd, one of China's foremost waste-to-energy facilities. The company is known for its advanced technical and environmental standards in converting waste into clean energy.
Senior officials at the facility delivered a comprehensive presentation on the company's capabilities, which include processing over 3,000 tonnes of municipal waste daily and utilising the resulting thermal energy to generate clean electricity connected to the national grid.
Ajman Crown Prince toured the company's advanced environmental treatment systems, including acid gas removal, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for nitrogen oxide reduction, and a dual dust removal system using both electrostatic precipitators and fabric filters to ensure emissions remain well below global standards.
Additionally, H.H. Sheikh Ammar was briefed on the plant's distributed control system (DCS) and its smart crane technology, which incorporates LiDAR, 3D scanning, and IoT to optimise operations with minimal human intervention.
"We were impressed by the integrated infrastructure and pioneering technology at the company, which effectively transforms waste into clean, sustainable energy. It is a vital model in advancing the circular economy and reducing carbon footprints," H.H. Sheikh Ammar stated.
"Ajman values partnerships with global leaders in the energy and environmental sectors. Sanfeng Environment's experience is an inspiring example that can inform our sustainable development efforts in the UAE and across the region."
